Today, mechanical engineering is in dire need of technical specialists. A branch of the Department of Technological Equipment and Mechanical Engineering of Shakarim University has been opened on the basis of the plant of JSC Semey Engineering. As part of the dual education, the opening of a branch of the department made it possible to train personnel directly at the enterprise itself. Future graduates have the opportunity to gain practical knowledge without interrupting the learning process. Students are trained by highly qualified employees of the enterprise.

For the professional orientation of graduates of schools and educational institutions of the city, excursions are held annually – the purpose of which is a detailed explanation of the value and popularization of working specialties.

To date, according to the signed memoranda and agreements on the organization of industrial practice with higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of Semey, 35 students from the NCJSC "Shakarim University of Semey", MSE "Industrial and Technological College" of Semey and MSOE "College of Transport" are practicing at the enterprise.
